Advantages of DNA storage:
- Small volume. A base only has the size of dozens of atoms. People keep the data based on this thus the overall volume will be significantly smaller than the traditional hard drive.
- High indensity. One DNA fragment contains base pairs with geometric magnitudes. 1 g of DNA is able to store 2.2PB data, which is equivalent to the capacity of about 3 million ordinary CD discs，42 thousands of copies of BD with 50GB capacity, or 700 hard disks each with 3TB capacity (almost 151 kg).

Progress of DNA storage technology:
