Polyclonal Antibody Preparation

Polyclonal antibodies are a mixture of antibodies that recognize different epitopes of a specific antigen and can be produced by collecting antiserums after artificially immunizing the host. Because it can recognize multiple epitopes, it has a higher affinity and sensitivity than monoclonal antibodies. Polyclonal antibodies are also more tolerant to small antigen changes.

With rich experience in antigen design and mature antigen/antibody preparation technology, Synbio Technologies can provide one-stop customized services from antigen design, gene synthesis, antigen preparation, animal immunity, to high throughput antibody production. In addition, some host animals (such as mice, rabbits, goats, etc.) and various kinds of antigens (such as peptide antigens, protein antigens, small molecule antigens, etc.) are available. Our technical team will evaluate your requirements and tailor your project to meet your needs. Ultimately, we can deliver high quality polyclonal antibodies for your scientific research.

Competitive Advantages

  • High Titer: The titer of ELISA will be greater than 1:100000. For protein antigens, the delivered polyclonal antibodies will be positive for Western Blot.
  • Customized Services: Provide exclusive experimental scheme for each customer to meet your personalized requirements.
  • One-Stop Service: We can provide one-stop service from gene synthesis, antigen preparation, to high quality antibody production.
  • Confidentiality: As your reliable partner, we will maintain a high degree of confidentiality for your sequences and products.
  • Professional communication: We will maintain frequent progress updates and issue communications throughout the entire project.

Polyclonal antibody VS Monoclonal antibody

Polyclonal antibodyMonoclonal antibody
Identify multiple epitopes of a specific antigenIdentify a unique epitope of a specific antigen
More cross-reactions with similar antigens; Could amplify the signal of the target protein with low expression level; Higher staining background interferenceSpecific detection of an unique target epitope, without cross-reactions with other antigens; Low staining background interference
More tolerant to small antigen changes and can detect homologous protein familiesDetection of an unique antigen or a single member of a protein family
Higher purity of the immunogen will obtain better polyclonal antibodiesImpure immunogens can also produce high purity antibodies
The quality of antibodies varies greatly from batch to batchEasy to standardize, the antibody test results from different batches are stable and consistent
The production cost is lower and the turnaround time is shorterThe production cost is higher and the turnaround time is longer
Suitable for:
  • Capture as many antigens as possible (e.g. IP or CHIP)
  • Detect denatured proteins
  • Detect the proteins which may have undergone glycosylation or morphologic changes
Applicable to:
  • Quantifying protein expression level
  • IHC, ICC, IF and other applications
  • Detect structural changes or phosphorylation state of the antigens
